Northeast India will be the best place to visit during the summer as the climate of the Northeastern parts remain cool and pleasant due to mild and heavy rainfall than the other part of India. Earlier,North East  India is comprises of 7 States. But now Sikkim is added and is considered as one of the state along with the 7 States. Therefore, there are 8 states in North East:

  2. Assam
  3. Tripura
  4. Manipur
  5. Nagaland
  6. Mizoram
  7. Meghalaya and
  8. Sikkim

There are hundreds of tourist spot in the whole Northeast India. But, if you are a religious person then here is a list of top 8 holy places from each of  it states.

Parshuram Kund, Arunachal Pradesh

Parshuram Kund is situated on the lower banks of the Lohit river in Lohit district of Arunachal.

There is a mythological believe that Lord Parshuram, took a dip and washed off his sins of killing his own mother at the Holy kund. So, people from different places come here to wash their sins by taking a Dip in this holy water.

The natural beauty of the place makes the sport more beautiful please stop one can spend hours watching the view surronded by green trees,mountain and pure running stream.

Kamakhya Devi temple, Assam

Kamakhya Devi temple is one of the most famous Hindu temples situated at the Nilanchal him in Guwahati, Assam.

the temple attracts number of tourist from different part of the country as it holds a great impact in the heart of them.

During summer, a fair is organised once a year for 2 to 3 days called the “Ambubasi Mela” held in the month of June. It is believed that during this month, the Goddess Kamakhya goes to her cycle of annual mensuration.

Unakoti Hill temples, Tripura

The temple is considered as one of the seven wonders of India situated in Northern state of Tripura.

Sri Govindajee Temple, Manipur

 Sri Govindajee Temple is the largest Hindu temple of Manipur in North Eastern part of India.

The temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna and his consort ‘Radha’.

One must visit this  temple around the occasion of Holi and Krishna Janmashtami the local people arrange ‘Ras Leela’ and Manipuri folk dance performances during this festival which pull huge number of pilgrims and the scene become truly a sight to remember.


Catholic Cathedral, Kohima (Nagaland)

 It is the biggest Church among all the churches in North East India. The Catholic Cathedral  is situated in Kohima, Nagaland.

The interiors and architecture of the church is remarkable and the crucifix of this churvh is the tallest one in India.

 The holding capacity of the church is about 3000 sitting and 1500 standing.

 Mizoram presbyterian Church is the largest church in Mizoram state established in the year 1894.

The Church was established by a presbyterian missionary Rev.David Evan

Many Christians across the states come  here to pray.

Mahadev khola Dham,Meghalaya

 Mahadev khola Dham is located in Shillong and one of the very famous temple situated in Meghalaya.

The cavtive Dham is dedicated to Lord Shiva

During Shivratri, the temple is packed with numbers of tourist and local visitors.

Rumtek Monastery, Sikkim

The Rumtek Monastery is one of the most known monasteries in India and one must visit is beautiful state.
